Hijrah Trek & Umrah - In The Footsteps Of The Prophet ﷺ
The Hijrah was not just a migration but a transformative event in Islamic history that marked the establishment of the first Muslim community in Madinah. Each day of the itinerary reflects critical moments of this sacred journey, allowing participants to walk in the footsteps of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and experience the trials and blessings of the Hijrah route.
This itinerary mirrors the historical journey that shaped the future of Islam, offering participants both spiritual enrichment and a deep connection to the Prophet's ﷺ life.

Day 1: London to Makkah
Depart from London to Jeddah
Upon arrival at Jeddah Airport, participants will be transferred to their hotel in Makkah to rest, perform Umrah and prepare for the Hijrah journey.
Day 2 & 3: Ka’ba - Tawaf - Jummah
We will spend a couple of days in Makkah, offering our 5 daily prayers and the Friday Jummah whilst enjoying the grand views of the Ka’ba and performing Tawaf.
By engaging in heartfelt worship, it’s an opportunity to seek forgiveness and blessings before embarking on the Hijrah trek.
The rewards for worship in Makkah are multiplied. A prayer in Masjid al-Haram is worth 100,000 more than prayers elsewhere.
Day 4: Makkah – Cave Thawr
Key Locations
Masjid Al-Aqaba: Located in Mina, it marks the site where the Ansar of Madinah pledged allegiance to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ before the Hijrah.
Cave of Thawr: The cave where Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه sought refuge during their escape from Makkah.
Significance in Islam: The journey begins in Makkah, the heart of Islam, retracing the Prophet’s route from his house to the cave of Thawr, where he received divine protection during his migration to Madinah.
Day 5: Makkah to Rabigh
Key Locations
Tent of Umm Ma’bad: A tent belonging Umm Ma’bad, where the Prophet and his companions rested. Her hospitality became famous, and she later embraced Islam. The Hadith of Umm Ma'bad provides one of the most detailed and vivid descriptions of the Prophet Muhammad's ﷺ physical appearance and demeanour.
Jabal Surakah: The location where Surakah bin Malik pursued the Prophet ﷺ but was miraculously unable to capture him due to divine intervention.
Significance in Islam: This leg of the journey recalls the Prophet’s ﷺ resting points and miraculous encounters during the Hijrah, including the well-known story of Umm Ma’bad and Surakah.
Day 6: Rabigh to Al-Qaha
Key Locations
Jabal Akhā: A significant landmark along the Hijrah route.
Bi'r Radhwan: A historical well where the Prophet ﷺ and his companions are believed to have stopped for water.
Wadi Al-Hamdah: One of the valleys crossed during the migration, adding to the physical challenge of the journey.
Wadi Laqf: Another significant valley marking the route.
Significance in Islam: These valleys and wells serve as a reminder of the physical and spiritual trials the Prophet ﷺ and his companions underwent during the Hijrah.
Day 7: Al-Ghāʼir to Abyār Al-Mashi Resort
Key Locations: Rakūbah Mountain, Jabal Quds, Jabal Warqān, Wadi Rīm, Abyār Al-Mashi.
Rakūbah Mountain: A mountain passed by the Prophet ﷺ, highlighting the rugged terrain he and his companions crossed.
Wadi Rīm: A blessed valley leading towards Madinah, historically significant as part of the Hijrah route.
Abyār Al-Mashi: The resort area that serves as the final resting point before reaching Masjid Quba and Madinah.
Significance in Islam: These locations emphasize the hardships faced during the journey, as well as the Prophet’s ﷺ reliance on divine guidance and strength in the face of difficulty.
Day 8: Masjid Quba - Madinah
Key Locations: Wadi Al-‘Aqīq, Al-Thabyah Way, Masjid Quba.
Wadi Al-‘Aqīq: A valley in Madinah often mentioned as a place of blessings by the Prophet ﷺ.
Masjid Quba: The first mosque built by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ upon his arrival in Madinah. It stands as a symbol of the establishment of the first Muslim community.
Significance in Islam: The Prophet’s ﷺ arrival at Quba marked the conclusion of the Hijrah and the beginning of the Muslim era in Madinah, a moment of triumph and the start of a new chapter in Islamic history.
Day 9 & 10 : Madinah Exploring historical landmarks
Key Locations
Masjid An-Nabawi: The Prophet’s Mosque, where Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is buried. It is one of the holiest sites in Islam. We will also pray Jummah at this Masjid.
Jannat Al-Baqi: The cemetery where many of the Prophet’s family members and companions are buried.
Masjid Al-Qiblatayn: The mosque where the qibla (direction of prayer) was changed from Jerusalem to Makkah by divine command.
Mount Uhud: Site of the famous Battle of Uhud, where the early Muslims faced a difficult test but learned important lessons.
Significance in Islam: These landmarks are central to Islamic history, offering participants the chance to connect with key moments from the life of the Prophet ﷺ and the early Muslim community in Madinah.
Day 11: Madinah to London
Participants will be transferred to Madinah Airport for their return flight to London, marking the end of the adventure and spiritual journey.
